John 8:31-41

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You can live where you want, wear what you want, work where you want, play what you want, plus a host of other things

What are these things worth?

Freedom is worth life itself!

The freedom we enjoy has come at a high price

Jesus interested in more lasting freedom

John 8:31-41

One of the better known statements of Jesus – v.32,“…and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

1. Bondage of Sin
2. Temporary pleasure is the only benefit
3. You will have to deal with the guilt of sin
4. The power of sin – Romans 7:15-25… Have you ever felt like this?
5. v.34! Commit sin=Slave to sin

1. Freedom through Truth (The true path to freedom)
2. Comes through the doctrine of Jesus

Vs. 8:31-32,   

1. Freedom from bondage of sin
2. From penalty – Ephesians 1:7

3. Rise to walk in newness of life, free to serve God Romans 6:11-14
4. continual cleansing of blood of Christ – I John 1:9
5. Aid of Holy Spirit in putting to death deeds of flesh –Romans 8:12-13

Freedom – It comes at a great price

-to secure our freedom Jesus Christ went up a hill….
